SUMMARY:Memorial Walk and Elections
DESCRIPTION:We walk to honor our ancestors and memorialize the day in 1900 when the village on Chickigami Trail was burned to the ground and taken.  This unlawful act affected those living in the village that day and changed the course of the future for every descendent since that day. \nWe walk in peace and unity to remind ourselves and the community that we are still here and will continue to work for federal recognition for our Band as we have for decades. \nThe walk will begin at the cemetery on Chickagami Trail. \n11:00  a.m. Blessing\, followed by the Memorial Walk ending at the Indian Road cemetery.  Lunch will be provided after the walk. \nPublic are welcome. You may meet at 10:45 a.m. at the Burt Lake Band office on Indian Road or join us from the  cemetery on Chickagami Trail.
